Worship Team:
The Worship Team at MCC Charleston works with the pastor, music team and audio-visual team to further the dominion of God through facilitating joy-filled worship. We are always looking for energetic folks to read scripture, offer communion prayers and help us maintain our communion table.
Congregational Care:
MCC of Charleston’s congregational care team adds to the compassion and vibrancy of our church community. This ministry extends pastoral care to those in need through care cards, home/hospital visits, and prayer.
Specifically, the team is available for:
- Visitation in hospitals, nursing facilities, and homes
- Listening: Providing an open, non-judgmental and confidential ear to hear your stories
- Communion and prayer
- Anointing the sick
- Sending care cards to those in need, or to celebrate life occasions
- Friendly phone calls
The congregational care team can be reached at mcccharlestoncares@gmail.com. Confidentiality and discretion are cornerstones of our ministry. It’s absolutely essential for building safe, healing and caring relationships. What is said to a care team member is kept in strictest confidence. New healthcare regulations (HIPPA) provide safeguards for this information. Information will only be shared at the request of the care receiver.
Ushers:
The Ushers Ministry provides smiling faces to greet people and welcome newcomers to our church. Ushers guide congregants to the front of the Sanctuary to receive communion. They also assist congregants with seating and other matters.
Music Team:
The Choir communicates the message and presence of God through music in the worship services. Members may also perform solo during a “Special Music” portion of a service. The choir also coordinates with the pastor and other ministries to arrange for any special considerations.
Prayer Partners:
The Prayer Partners Ministry prays as a group for those in need. Prayer requests are sent to every Prayer Partner and can be submitted by anyone. They can be written in the Prayer Book on the Prayer Table on the left side of the Sanctuary, or on Prayer Cards found in the pews. Prayer partners can be reached at mccpleasepray@gmail.com.
Food Bank:
The Food Bank Ministry provides food on an emergency basis to those in need and strives to become known in the community for its deeds. Members maintain the food pantry, pack bags for needy families and coordinate with Low Country Food Bank and Food Lion. Our team works diligently to provide resources for other services, such as utility assistance and medical needs.
